Ah, Roz, as an unpaid editor of a Medium publication, the desire to alleviate the anxiety of submitting writers is not as compelling as that of paid editors, perhaps, who are devoting 8 hours a day to the enterprise.

I’m very happy that our submitting writers are not following your two day rule. There are times, especially with ill health, or in the midst of a holiday season, when responding or accepting pieces cannot happen that quickly. The accept/reject process is fairly similar, though we might not be as ruthless as you suggest when the writer has a terrific concept that only needs some polishing.
