In a scene that aches with all the possibilities and all the realities, you’ve distilled the essence of right place, wrong time — and turned it into a far deeper and more pointed question. The what if of there never was a right time and this is all that can ever be. So many writers try to touch this, to make it clear, but fumble at the ideas awkwardly. You craft it from the rumble of an engine, a road of dim light and shadows, a nameless emotion, pulsing between two people who want what they cannot have. As always, Edd, it’s extraordinary.
